I was recently given an uncharacterized discharge (chapter 11) from the army I was curious as to if that would dq me from joining the force

Also if I should talk to a recruiter now or wait untill I'm 21 currently I'm 17

you can't even apply until you are 20.5 in most departments.. thats in about 4 years for u.. a lot can change in 4 years.. i'd be more worried about keepin my nose clean for the next 4 years...

Lvmpd does not allow a person to take our written test until they are 21 years of age, the day of the test, or earlier.

Your discharge from the military is not a positive spot in your history. This can be overcome. As previously mentioned, you have 4 years prior to being eligible to test. If you perform at a high level in your next job and show you can be depended upon in tough situations, then you have as good of an opportunity to succeed as anyone else.

hello, my name is ceasar gonzalez, I received a military discharge of General Under Honorable conditions, I was in the army went in as 11b "infantry" with an airborne and ranger contract, everything went good until i got to ranger battallion where the pressure started, mistake led to mistake and got the boot right before my first deployment i served my training and over 6 months in 1st ranger battalion and i want to go back in or go into a similar line of work which is why I am here. I want to know is it possible to become a police officer with that history, and would it hurt me in any way in qualifying, I just turned 21 this month and looking forward to serving my country or community once again to the fullest of my ability. Thank you

A general discharge is acceptable. I would suggest that you put in an interest card and await notification of the next test date. In the meantime, I suggest that you look over all of the material on the website and ensure that you stay physically fit.
